In our blog series LivingKitchenStories we take a look at the kitchens of popular food- and lifestyle-bloggers from all over the world. We want to know what they cannot live without in their kitchens and what they find more important in the end: design or functionality.
The second kitchen we are visiting is the kitchen of the food- and lifestyle-blogger Nadine Burck. Her blog Dreierlei Liebelei is about everything she likes in life – like good food, travelling and interior design.
„What’s most important to me, is that all people feel at home, when they enter my kitchen.“ That is why Nadine decorated her kitchen very cozy and homely. „I was very lucky, because I had the chance to create my own dream kitchen, two years ago.“ Woods, white kitchen fronts and well-selected accessoires make the kitchen very comfortable.
The right kitchen aids are essential in Nadine’s kitchen: „A dishwasher and a big refrigerator are very important to me. Also the little helper in the kitchen: stick blender and a mixer are a must for people, who cook as often as I do“, explains the blogger.
Indispensable for Nadine: lots of storage space and a big work surface. All the things we do not use daily should be placed behind closed doors or in boxes. Beautiful things, like for example a decorative bottle of olive oil or a wooden cutting board, can be placed on the surfaces – soy sauce with a supermarket label and the plastic cutting board on the other hand should better be put in the cabinets and dishwashing liquids can be filled up in soap dispensers. „I just wanted base cabinets in my kitchen to make the room look more airy. With the open shelves I still have enough storage place for cubs, glasses and flour or sugar in nice jars.“ That is how you can easily refresh your kitchen interior design and use your storage place best – without leaving the functionality in the kitchen behind.
